New season style: what’s coming up for autumn/ winter 2015

While it may seem like summer has only just arrived, fashion moves fast and already retailers are turning their attention to autumn/ winter trends.

Navigating the ever-changing world of fashion can be challenging, so we have come up with our guide to some of next season’s biggest trends, from the colours to wear to the fabrics to choose.

While you can expect the usual palette of greys, berry shades and blues, next season you can also expect a shot of red to make its way into your wardrobe! Many designers, including Dior and Fendi, worked head to toe red into their collections for a look that was pure statement.

As well as colour, pattern is expected to be big next season too, in particular animal prints, which add a touch of sophistication to most outfits.  In terms of trends, the 70s inspired look we saw on the High Street for spring and summer will still be around as the year draws to a close, this time however, expect the trend to be for floaty fabrics and creating texture by layering dresses, sweaters and jackets.

Also expected to make a comeback is the 80s! While many of us may cringe away from the idea of returning to shoulder pads, big hair and power dressing, the latest 80s reincarnation is about colour (bright) and texture; think mixing silk and knit.

When it comes to updating your lingerie for the season ahead, it pays to think about the clothing you will be wearing.  If you are all set to embrace the 70s trend for floaty and sheer fabrics for example, choose lingerie that offers a smooth, seamless finish, ideally in a skin-coloured tone, as this will not show through on sheer fabric. Check out the Prima Donna Satin collection for a range of colour and style options.

If, when winter comes around, you pretty much go into hibernation mode and pile on the layers, treat yourself to a statement lingerie set in a bold colour or with pretty decoration to stave off those winter blues! We love the Avero pre-formed plunge bra from Marie Jo, (available in sizes A to F) in deep red. The rich colour is perfect for adding a splash of warmth to your winter wardrobe.
