Top tips for looking great on the beach!

Wearing a bikini or swimsuit around the pool or on the beach can sometimes feel like an act of bravery! If you are planning a summer getaway and are feeling unsure about how beach-ready your body is, then check out our quick tip guide to looking beach-ready in an instant…

Walk tall…

Did you know that simply correcting your posture could help you to look slimmer? Walk with your shoulders back, chin up, chest out and stomach pulled in for instant effect.

Do your prep…

Before venturing on to the beach, be sure to remove unwanted hair and moisturise your skin. You may also want to add a touch of self-tanner for a subtle bronzed glow that will not only give you a healthy tan, but that can also work to hide blemishes.

Best foot forward…

Before jetting off treat yourself to a pedicure. On holiday most of us spend our time in sandals or bare foot so get your feet beach-ready! Opt for a long-lasting polish in an on-trend colour such as candy shades of pink, purple and blue.

Accessorise…

Accessories such as statement jewellery or bracelets need not just be for eveningwear. Pair a statement accessory with your beach wear for instant style kudos. An added benefit is that the jewellery will draw the eye away from problem areas.

Choose your swimwear wisely…

Swimwear can leave even the most body-beautiful feeling self-conscious so do not worry if you feel less-than confident stepping out in your swimsuit. Thankfully, with the right swimwear you can step out feeling confident and supported, as it will emphasise your assets and minimise the bits you would sooner hide!

If, like many women, you would sooner hide your bottom half, then opt for a supportive bikini top and full bikini briefs such as Bora Bora from Prima Donna and pair with a pareo, such as the Bay Breeze design from Charmline to add coverage to your bottom half. The underwired Bora Bora bikini top offers support and is available in sizes F to H. The on-trend snake print in tones of blue is also flattering to most skin tones.

If your tummy is your problem area, then opting for a swimsuit that features a control panel is a must. The panel will help hold you in while smoothing any lumps or bumps. We love Gottex’s Electric Vibe bandeau style swimsuit, not only does it offer great support across the bust with its moulded cups, but it is also lined with a control panel for extra support. The vibrant design and interesting strap detailing also help draw the eye away from problem areas.
