Before I moved to a remote part of Scotland, I did not think it was possible to buy luxury lingerie online, without personal advice on fitting. Now that I’m nearly 3 hours travelling time from anywhere to shop, I have no choice but to buy remotely. I discovered Bare Necessities by looking for Marie Jo stockists. Your web site is easy to use; your range and stock are extensive; the ordering process was also easy; my goods came quickly – and the bra and briefs are lovely and fit perfectly. I could not have had a more successful shopping expedition.
I do not wish to name competitors of yours with whom I have dealt, because I am sure they have tried hard to assist me. However, although independent and apparently of comparable standing, none of the 3 others has come anywhere near the quality of service and stock that you offer.

I live in Hong Kong which is not ideal for buying underwear for a curvy figure. When I have travelled with work back to the UK the ladies at Bare Necessities have posted to whichever hotel I stay in which is very helpful. Also when friends or family visit me in Hong Kong I have orders delivered to them to bring out to me and the returns timeline is flexible. I receive great advice on sizing guides so I can try new styles which is very helpful.

Having worn ill fitting and poor quality bras for several years now, I really felt I needed to upgrade my underwear drawer!!!
I entered Bare Necessities and were met my 2 lovely ladies who were immediately warm and welcoming. I explained that I had been to a department store and measured wrongly a few years back. and that I had been sold, the most ugly and unattractive bra, being told ‘it’s a perfect fit for you.’
My whole experience at Bare Necessities couldn’t have been more different. I was taken to a private cubicle, where I was measured and then fitted into some of the most beautiful bras.
I was asked about my preferences, shown different styles and colours, I was in ‘Bra Heaven!’

I am on my third order with Bare Necessities and have consistently received exceptional customer service. Their communication is excellent. Their staff, who have first class product knowledge, are always happy to talk to you and advise. Whenever products have been out of stock they have ordered them and given accurate arrival dates. They have a fantastic range of products and I have found their prices to be competitive.
It is most unusual in this day and age to find that when you telephone to speak to someone having seen a product on the internet that you end up with a very personable knowledgable service.
I bought two Sunflair swimsuits last month in a bit of a hurry just before my holiday and the girls at Bare Necessities couldn’t have been more helpful. I had chosen the style and the colour and they advised me on fit and guided me towards Sunflair which fit perfectly. The swimsuits were posted to me on a Saturday afternoon and arrived promptly on the Monday.
Today , I have returned to them once more , to buy another swimsuit in their sale and a couple of bras, and decided to telephone rather than use the Internet …….no trouble at all , and great service yet again.

Longtime Friends
I stumbled across this shop while walking with a friend in Melbourne back in 1997… I went in with my ‘F’ cups wearing a Berlei Bra and said, ‘you will have nothing in here to fit me!’
Brenda, the owner, then came over to me with heaps of beautiful, trendy, thin-strapped bras!! And I was sold. But the only problem was, I had no money or credit card on me to buy anything!
However, from then until this day for the past 18 years, I have bought all of my lingerie and swimwear from this fun-loving shop. Even boyfriends are made welcome when shopping for presents, because the girls know our size (such a personal touch).

I wanted to buy underwear recently that was unavailable in Australia. I contacted Bare Necessities in the UK as I had bought this brand at another lingerie shop on a UK visit previously. This shop had gone out of business so I couldn’t have been more pleased to find Bare Necessities and to hear that they were very happy to help. Several emails went back and forth with helpful comments, pictures etc being sent to me to help with my choice and nothing was too much trouble. They were not only helpful but extremely courteous. This is amazing in this day and age! I then purchased several bras which were posted to Australia and arrived very quickly. Brenda and her team are very helpful and they provide an excellent online service, their prices are the Recommended Retail Price, and they sell quality brands. I love Prima Donna and Empreinte lingerie which I’ve bought from Bare Necessities for some time and have never had any concerns even when I mentioned that what I was buying was for me (so-called-man). There’s great communication about the likely delivery date, no problems sending to countries other than UK and parcels are always well packaged and sent quickly. If there was an item shown in a catalogue but not in stock Brenda or Sue went out of their way to get me one as quickly as possible.

I was looking for some swimwear late in the season and visited the Bare necessities shop. There were lots of lovely things but not much left in my cup size. I tried on some swimwear and liked one but could not decide so did not purchase. The service I received was excellent, the shop assistants were helpful and knowledgable. I rang on the off chance having seen their website and was really impressed by the level of service and after service too. I described my shape and gave my measurements to Linda and she picked out bras to send to me to try. I have a very full figure so I was delighted that every one of them fitted to a T and that the selection was so good. Aladdins Cave!
I was introduced to Brenda and her team by a mutual friend, and regret having never visited Bare Necessities before. The skilled experienced assistants know exactly how to make a lady feel good especially when I was told was I wearing the total wrong size of bra! The Bras are expensive but when you have worn them for a while you realise they are an extremely good investment, so much so I have bought every colour in the range I wear! Prior to visiting Bare Necessities I was suffering from shoulder problems and my Physiotherapist told me my posture was not good possibly owing to the type of bra I was currently wearing and encouraged me to be properly measured and fitted. Result much improved posture and shoulder.!

I have been going to Bare Necessities for nearly 25years and I have never been disappointed.
I cannot recommend Brenda’s shop, assistants and ranges more highly. The shop has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere as soon as you enter. It’s never too much trouble.
The products are not cheap but are very well made and are of the highest quality and therefore they last forever, unlike some other well known brands. Not only do they fit you well they make you feel good too. If you’re well dressed on the outside then you should be well dressed on the inside too, and Bare Necessities make sure of that.

Small shop, great staff, enormous stock!
I discovered Brenda and staff at Bare Necessities in Melbourne 8 years ago.
I had gone with a good friend to Long Eaton to purchase a wedding outfit for my eldest daughter’s wedding. I found a fantastic outfit with a bodice top – my friend announcing that all I needed now was a bra that fitted me!! She drove me straight over to Melbourne and we were greeted by Julie who duly measured me and found me a fantastic bra that enhanced my outfit. I felt a million dollars on my daughter’s wedding day knowing that my ‘underwear’ was perfect. I still have that first bra! – 8 years older but still providing support and shape to my ageing body!
I have subsequently purchased more bra/pant sets which are equally as flattering and due to their construction may be a bit more expensive initially compared to ‘good old M&S’!, but outlast them by miles.
I would like to thank Brenda and staff for ‘enlightening’ me in the underwear department and also most recently with their fantastic swim wear stock. I was amazed at how different I felt with a good fitting bikini – it’s been a swimsuit for years!!
So.. be amazed and enlightened. Go and visit Bare Necessities. You will never want to go anywhere else.

Very helpful staff who know their product and care about customer satisfaction.
I recently purchased swimwear for the second time from Bare Necessities and did so online. The staff were very helpful and my purchases arrived the following day in the post. As I was also looking for a specific design that they did not stock, they made enquiries from the manufacturer and made a special order for me. I am delighted with my purchases and would recommend this company most highly.

What a difference – money well spent !!!!
I was really fed up of wasting money on uncomfortable bras that didn’t fit properly .My husband suggested I go to a shop dedicated to providing good lingerie. I visited Bare Necessities. I was looked after the minute I walked in to the shop. Brenda the owner made me feel really comfortable and encouraged me to try on a range of bras to find one that was comfortable and the right fit for me. I really did feel that she wasn’t just trying to sell me a bra and that it was important to her that that I looked and felt good. Brenda explained what a good fit should look like, provided me with lots of bras to try on, gave me honest advice on what they looked like and did not rush me. I bought two bras and I will never be visiting any other lingerie department again. I paid more than I ever have done for a bra but it is honestly money we’ll spent. I will be buying my lingerie from bare necessities in the future and for sure will be returning soon to buy myself a decent swimming costume as the range if swimwear looked fantastic. Brenda did tell me to allow a couple of hours to try on and chose the right swimwear – proof of commitment to customer service. Thank you Bare Necessities.
